10/01/2021

The European Union has set up a Grant Fund of EUR 20 million (Ideas Powered for Business SME Fund), which provides for the provision of intellectual property vouchers to small and medium-sized enterprises established in the European Union, with the aim of helping them gain access to and benefit from intellectual property rights (IP).

The new programme, which is open to all EU businesses that meet the official definition of SMEs, offers financial support in the form of reimbursement for trademark, design and model applications of up to €1,500 per business.

The first (out of a total of five in 2021) application period, will start on the 11th  of January 2021.

The new programme is implemented under the Ideas Powered for Business programme at EUIPO, and is part of the European Commission’s IP Action Plan. This initiative is also carried out in cooperation with the EU’s national and regional intellectual property offices.
