Professional Premises


In order to use any building or any other type of premises for the operation of a business activity (industry, commerce, exercise of a profession or any other income earning activity) in the Republic of Cyprus, one needs to obtain a license for the use of any premises for business activity by the local Municipal or Community Council, within the boundaries of which the activity will take place.

Licensed persons to use any premises for business activity are obliged to comply with the provisions of the Municipalities Law of 1985 (article 103) or the Communities Law of 1999 (article 85) and relevant Regulations, as periodically amended, as well as with the terms and conditions of the licence set by the Municipal or Community Council.

Authorized officers of the local Municipal or Community Council may periodically conduct a census of the premises and their use, and, whenever deemed necessary, inspect the licensed premises in order to ensure compliance with the provisions of the relevant Laws and Regulations, as well as with the terms and conditions of the licence set by the Municipal or Community Council.
